Samba Mahsuri (BPT 5204) developed by ANGRAU during 1980s, is a highly popular rice variety among the farmers in South India and some parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh. The variety has medium slender grain and excellent cooking qualities. It is a highly preferred rice variety among the farmers and consumers.
